About PROArtes México: Stephanie Garcia and Peter Hay

PROArtes Mexico believes art and culture are a means of establishing a dialogue between communities from a humancentric perspective in the hope of fostering a need for sensitive questioning before collective decisions are made. The organization was created to bolster the ability of artists to work and exchange ideas between the United States and Mexico as well as promote exemplary Mexican art internationally. They strive to create a space where the same value and equity are achieved for all creators despite belonging to nations from varied social contexts.

PETER HAY is an arts administrator, teacher, visual/conceptual artist, and videographer. In his personal body of work he embellishes current ecological issues and industrial histories to create a sense of environmental realism. Hay also likes to work with any community he finds himself in or with any artists willing to collaborate.

Previously, Hay was Exhibits Director of Durango Arts Center, Arts Instructor at Pueblo Community College, and Artist/Owner of Studio&Gallery in Durango, CO, USA, and Director of Development and Public Relations for Living Arts of Tulsa, OK, USA. He received an Associates of Art from Northern Oklahoma College, Bachelors of Art from Northeastern State University, and Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech University. In addition, he has given many workshops and lectures, attended international conferences, worked as a freelance designer/illustrator, participated in multiple group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
